Judge Clay D. Land officially closed World Wrestling Entertainment's lawsuit pertaining to their Wrestlemania 23 PPV sponsors, against Air, Sea and Ground, Inc., Rockford-Montgomery Labs, Inc. and the IAHL Corporation (formerly Three Sixty, Inc) for non-payment of an agreed upon fee on 4/23. The final defendant in the case, IAHL Corporation, came to terms with WWE on a settlement over the matter. The other defendants had settled with the company in November of last year. WWE had filed suit for a claimed $1,176,470.59 in money owed over the sponsorship as well as complaints that the OTC 360 website had left up material relating to WWE that lent belief there was a continued relationship between the companies, which was not the case.
The School of Visual Arts' website features an interview with the Vice President of World Wrestling Entertainment's Creative Services, Brett Wingate today, discussing the different design work his department does to help expound upon WWE's talents and branding. Wingate noted that one of the projects they are working on now is going to larger branded products and pitching using WWE talents in their marketing as opposed to other athletes, since WWE stars can handle the acting end. CM Punk promoting WWE's new sponsor Pepsi sure seems like a no brainer, eh?
