World Wrestling Entertainment announced that John Cena will undergo neck surgery today under Dr. Joseph Maroon, Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Team Neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Maroon also works with WWE on the medical program that has spouted out of the company's Wellness Policy.
Cena was initially scheduled to travel tomorrow to Dr. Lloyd Youngblood for evaluation, but obviously, those plans have changed. Commenting on why would only be conjecture, so I won't.
WWE posted on their website that they hope to have statements from Cena and Dr. Maroon online later today.
