I was reading about All Japan online and there's many references to the "Royal Road style". What exactly does that mean?
It's just the style description used for the in-ring work of the promotion, similar to how fans might say the "ROH or WWE style." All Japan was famous for a lot of mat-wrestling, stiff hard hitting shots and in the big matches, lots of bumps. A lot of people used to compare the AJPW main event bouts to boxing matches in terms of the physical punishment the performers would take. The early 1990s was an awesome time to be a fan of that company.
I know that both Leia Ali and Hulk Hogan host American Gladiators on NBC every week. Has there ever been a suggestion of both Hogan and Ali taking part in it, becoming American Gladiators themselves?
Not really a wrestling question, but no.
Just wondering the status of Ron Killings and Chris Harris. What roster will they be on and is this a plus for WWE to pick up these guys from TNA?
Killings has worked some Raw house shows, so it appears that's where he's going to be slotted. There's no clear cut answer on Harris yet. As for whether they were a good pickup, like anything else, it all depends on how much WWE decides to get out of them. They are both talented and in the case of Harris especially, a good worker, but politics, injuries and an inability to translate to the WWE way of performing has sunk careers before. We'll have to see - it's one of those things that makes following the business so interesting.
What is my favorite 80's and early 90's WWF Jobber of all time "Iron" Mike Sharpe up to these days? Also what was up with him always yelling in the ring during his matches.
Sharpe, who was well known for showering for hours after a match, now lives in his native Canada. I haven't heard much beyond that, and I know that some of his old students had been hoping to get in touch with him. Sharpe's school produced former WCW star Crowbar, former WWE star Mike Bucci and a host of others. As far as the yelling, that was part of his persona.
If you were Ric Flair, and you saw Scott Steiner walking your way, how fast would you run in the opposite direction?I think Steiner says a lot of things to get attention. That said, if anyone saw an angry Scott Steiner coming in their direction, they'd get out of the way. Anyone who says otherwise, is a LIAR.
