FULL BAD BLOOD REPORT

By Buck Woodward on 2004-06-14 00:50:00

Recent events between Shelton Benjamin and Evolution were recapped. Randy Orton was interviewed by Todd Grisham, who said that tomorrow is the "half-year anniversary" of his Intercontinental Title reign. Orton started complaining about the fans booing him, and took the mic and went into the arena.  Orton walked through the crowd, bragging and ripping on the fans for not recognizing his greatness. Orton demanded respect from the crowd. Shelton Benjamin came out and interrupted him, saying no one in the crowd cared about anything Orton had to say. Benjamin suggested they have their Intercontinental Title match right now, instead of later tonight, as scheduled.  Before Orton could respond, a referee ran into the ring and called for the bell.

Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton vs. Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin immediately rolled up Orton for two, then dropkicked him to the floor.  Benjamin hit a baseball slide, and ripped off his T-Shirt.  Benjamin sent him back into the ring, and Orton went for a clothesline, but Benjamin ducked and hit a cross bodyblock. Orton raked the eyes and whipped Benjamin into a corner, but Benjamin ducked a charge and hit an armdrag.  Benjamin leapfrogged Orton in a corner and hit a clothesline for two. They went to the floor, and Benjamin backdropped Orton over the security wall into the crowd.  Benjamin dropped Orton face first on the apron, and covered Orton for two. Orton went for a suplex, but Benjamin rolled him into a small package for two.  Benjamin clothesline Orton to the floor, and suplexed him back for two. Benjamin missed a splash in the corner, and went over the top rope to the floor.  Orton rolled Benjamin into the ring for a two count.  Ric Flair came down to ringside (to a huge ovation).  Orton worked over Benjamin with chokes and punches, then applied a rear chinlock as Flair applauded him. Benjamin got up, with Orton on his shoulders trying to maintain the hold, and dropped him backwards to the mat. Orton came back with an over-the-shoulder backbreaker, that he then dropped down into a neckbreaker for two.  Orton applied a reverse chinlock and yanked back on Benjamin. Benjamin fought up and elbowed out of the hold, but Orton slammed him to the mat. Orton went to the top rope, but missed a flying bodypress.  Benjamin hit a Northern Lights Suplex for a two count at the ten minute mark.

Benjamin and Orton began trading right hands, neither giving an inch, as the crowd really got into the slugfest.  Orton hit a knee to the gut, but ran into a Benjamin elbow.  Orton hit a forearm, but Benjamin hit a shoulderblock and a clothesline, then followed with a backdrop. Benjamin went to the top rope and a hit a clothesline for a near fall. Benjamin hit a side Russian legsweep for another near fall.  Randy flipped Benjamin over on a backslide attempt, but Benjamin caught an Orton kick and hit a spinkick for a two count.  Benjamin hit a splash in the corner and a T-Bone Exploder suplex, but Flair put Orton's foot on the bottom rope to break up the count.  Flair headed up the aisle, but Benjamin went after him and tossed Flair into the ring. Benjamin backdropped Flair and hit a splash in the corner on him.  Benjamin then splashed Orton in a corner and clotheslined Flair.  Benjamin put Flair in a figure four leglock.  Orton went over the Benjamin, and Benjamin rolled Orton into a small package while still holding Flair in the figure four for two.  Benjamin clotheslined Flair and Orton, then rammed Orton into Flair (who was now on the apron) and rolled Orton up for two.  Benjamin went to the top rope and hit a flying bodypress, but Orton ran through and hooked the trunks for the pin at the 15 minute mark. Winner: Randy Orton.
