The WWE website has posted comments on the passing of the Fabulous Moolah from Mae Young, Howard Finkel, 80s wrestling star Donna Christanello and current WWE Women's champion Beth Phoenix.
William Regal was interviewed by News.au in Australia and decried the "belief that professional wrestlers are nothing more than drugged-up loons," according to the article. "We have strict (drug) testing going on," Regal said. "It's just unfortunate that everybody is jumping on the bandwagon and making us out to be the creatures that we're not." When the Chris Benoit tragedy was brought up, Regal commented, ""Nobody in the WWE could have helped what happened to change the unfortunate ending to Chris Benoit's life and his family's life. If anybody would have known any different, we would have helped him. There have been a lot of live events since that tragedy and the same amount of people are coming in. They're sticking by us because they know this is not the norm." Regal also discusses his hobby of breeding lizards. You can read the entire article at this link.
ESPN.com listed The Rock and Nikolai Volkoff among the "bottom ten" athletes who attempted a musical career in a Las Vegas Sun sidebar piece, which you can check out by clicking here.
