Since we have been inundated with a TON of emails from readers concerned about Terry Funk's health after Dustin Rhodes tweeted about him being in pain and asking fans to pray for Terry, rather than respond to them all individuallly, I wanted to make a post.
In recent months we have heard numerous times that, Funk, 76, has been dealing with a hip issue that brings him great pain. Given the great amount of punishment he put on his body over the course of his 50 year career, you might imagine that is not the only daily pain he deals with and you'd be right. He's put his body through a lot and he is dealing with the after-effects of that.
Let's also not forget that it wasn't all that long ago that Terry's wife Vickie, who was a wonderful person, passed away as well, which can not have been easy for Terry who after so many decades of serving fans went home to retire and then lost his wife. That is not something anyone deserves.
So, for those concerned there is some sort of impending terrible news about to break, to the best of my knowledge, that is not the case, but on a day to day basis, Terry is dealing with a lot and Dustin Rhodes is right - he is in pain - and I am sure Funk appreciates good wishes sent his way.
I personally consider Terry to be the greatest professional wrestler of all time and I think I speak for the entire site when I say we wish the best for him, today and always.
