VIDEO & RECAP: WWE'S WHERE ARE THEY NOW? SNITSKY

By Mike Johnson on 2020-04-09 12:00:00

Hosted by Kelly Kelly, she introduced the program by reviewing Snitsky’s career, followed by clips of Snitsky’s WWE highlights.

They show Snitsky working out in “The Dungeon.”  He noted that he’s been collecting pieces of workout equipment over the years and now it’s to the point he has a full gym in his basement.  He said that’s grown quite the beard (which he has) and it’s grown on him.

Snitsky joked that he’ll do anything to get people to laugh and that his neighbors probably think he’s nuts, which he is a little, remarking that anyone who “runs around in their underwear in front of seven million people on Monday Night Raw” are probably a little nuts.

He lives now in Orwigsburg, PA.  He and his wife are usually out in the woods or biking.  There’s a lot of country out there and he loves being out on the trails.  He grew up in typical Small-town, USA.  As young as 14, he was telling people if they didn’t see him in the NFL on Sundays, he’ll be on Mondays for WWE.

He went through the NFL combine and signed with the Chargers but had a misdiagnosed shoulder injury.  Once football ran its course, he moved to Louisville to OVW and was lucky enough to be called up four months later.  He got a call to come to Seattle for TV and was told to check in and find out what he’s going to do.  Everyone was wondering who he was when he was in the ring.

They showed footage of his debut against Kane.  He said he was thrown to the lions and felt he could fumble or go for a touchdown.  No one knew him since he didn’t do any dark matches.  He went and did the match with Kane and went back to work at OVW.  The next Monday, he was in the ring doing drills when Tommy Dreamer walked in and asked him what he was doing there and that he had to get to the airport to go to Raw right now.  Snitsky was confused and Dreamer told him that Vince McMahon just called and said he had to get to Arizona for Raw.  No one told him.  He was speeding and rushing to get to the airport.   He missed his connection, so WWE sent the company’s private jet for him and he arrived with an hour before he was on TV.

They showed him dropping his “It’s Not My Fault” catchphrase for the first time.  He said it wasn’t something he thought about before he said it and was surprised it resonated with so many people.  He was living vicariously through himself.

On the infamous angle when he punted the baby doll into the crowd, Vince McMahon told him that no matter what he does, he had to kick the baby and to not miss.  He was like, “I was a punter!”

Snitsky showcased some of the merchandise he had while in WWE, pointing out the prototype of his first figure.  He said that was the real mark that you made it, getting an action figure.

Snitsky then recapped his time in WWE’ version of ECW.  Vince McMahon called him over and asked him if he wanted to move to ECW.  Vince told him that he liked what he was doing but he wanted to give him more visibility.  Snitsky said sure, so Vince asked him to shave off all his hair and go to the makeup lady to see if they could figure out a way to yellow his teeth.

They recapped his time there and then his move to Raw.  He said he knew he now looked like Kane and he knew that but he wanted to do his best as his parents raised him, so he did what he could, but sometimes things happen and you get lost in the shuffle.  Snitsky said he got frustrated as a performer and they parted ways, but they didn’t leave on bad terms.

Snitsky is now a partner in a military surplus store with a friend.  He talked about taking part in the Tribute to the Troops show and saw firsthand how the troops live overseas and its crazy.  He has a lot of respect for what they do as he’s from a military family.

He has also made headway in the film business, having co-produced, co-wrote, stunt coordinated and starred in the horror film “100 Acres of Hell.”  He said it was cool to do the physicality and create something that people invest in emotionally.

Snitsky said he still gets noticed and recognized and when he asked people why, they tell him it’s the eyes.  He loves giving autographs and photos because without the fans, they don’t have anything.
