By Mike Johnson on 2016-12-02 20:51:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing Ring of Honor Final Battle 2016 PPV coverage from The Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC!

I will be handling play by play coverage, while Stu Carapola will be blogging live thoughts from the show.  You can check those out on the main page of PWInsider.com!

The photo above, taken before the doors opened, showcases the production level that ROH brought in for the show tonight.  It looked awesome.

YOUTUBE EXCLUSIVE: Tempura Boyz vs. Cheeseburger & Will Ferrara

Solid back and forth match.  Sho superkicked Cheeseburger off the apron into Yo's arms, where he then suplexed him down on the floor.  The Tempura Boyz worked over Burger for a long time.  Burger made a comeback against both but was hit with a backcracker.   Ferrera made the hot tag but was nailed with some double team maneuvers.  He kept kicking out.  Cheeseburger returned to the fray butt was nailed.  They went for a package piledriver but Cheeseburger escaped.  Burger nailed a superkick to the back of the head and Ferrara drilled him for the pin.

Your winners, Cheeseburger & Will Ferrara!

Good solid back and forth match.

Everyone showed respect after the match for each other.

ROH will return to the Hammerstein Ballroom on 3/4.

Live in the building, Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino came out.  They each got a nice ovation.   The crowd began a nice "Steve Corino" chant.  There was then a sizable "Please don't go" chant for Corino as he's expected to go to work for WWE as a trainer when his deal here expires at the end of the month.

The PPV went on the air with ROH champion Adam Cole reading a fairy tale about a king (himself) protecting his throne with the help of his friends (The Bullet Club) from the knights that wanted to ascend to loyalty - Kyle O'Reilly.  It was a totally different way to start a ROH PPV and I liked it.

Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino ran down the card for the PPV.

The Motor City Machineguns & Donovan Dijak with Prince Nana vs. The Rebellion, Rhett Titus & Kenny King & Caprice Coleman.

Sabin and King started out and went back and forth.  Sabin leapfrogged King.  They faced off.  The crowd liked the exchange.  Dijak tagged in and began drilling the Rebellion with elbows.  He and the Guns teamed up to work on Rhett Titus.  Shelley whipped Titus in a corner, where he was bent over and dropicked him in the rear.  That was pretty funny.  Dijak came off the ropes with a nice elbow.  The Guns held up Titus and Dijak came off the middle rope with a splash for a two count.  Dijak moves so well for a guy of his size.

Sabin and Titus went to the floor, where Caprice drilled Sabin with a kick.  That allowed King to hit a nice twisting dive to the floor.  He brought Sabin back into the ring and scored a two count.    King and Titus worked over Sabin.    The Rebellion took turns working over Sabin before Titus locked him in a top wristlock.  The audience rallied Sabin but he was cut off and nailed by a Coleman splash into the ring.  They worked over Sabin until he shocked King with a tornado DDT.  Titus tried to prevent the tag but was kicked away and Dijak tagged in.

Dijak picked up and slammed Rhett with authority, sending him flying across the ring.  He caught King on a bodypress attempt and drilled him with knees then threw him over the ropes in rude fashion.  Dijak just wrecked everyone he came into contact with.  The place popped for it and chanted his name.  Dijak then hit a springboard flip to the outside.  That was absolutely insane.

Dijak and The Guns hit a number of triple team moves on Titus but the other members of Rebellion broke up the pinfall.   Sabin was hit with a top rope rana.  Dijak drilled Caprice with a big boot and hit a sit down powerbomb on King.  He nailed a moonsault off the apron but was superkicked by Titus on the floor.     The battle went back and forth until King nailed a stunner on Sabin, followed by a leaping knee off the ropes by Caprice and a big frog splash by Titus.  Great sequence!

Your winners, The Rebellion!

Really, really good six man tag with lots of fast paced sequences.  Dijak really stole the show here.  Great stuff!

Jushin Liger vs. Silas Young.

Liger was attacked before the bell and worked over by Young, who ripped away at Liger's mask in the corner.  Liger fired back with palm strikes.    He went for a brainbuster but Young cut him off.  Silas nailed a nasty backbreaker and stomped away at Liger.   Liger was tossed to the floor, where Beer City  Bruiser beat him down and tossed him back in the ring.  Young scored a two count and continued working him over, nailing a backbreaker.  He applied pressure, trying to snap Liger's back.

Liger came back with a series of chops and went for a suplex into the ring.   Young went for a clothesline but Liger went for one as well and they both went down.  Liger recovered first and nailed the palm strike in the corner.  He nailed a top rope rana for a two count.   Liger called the Ligerbomb and went for it, but was driven backwards into the corner.   Liger was caught with another over the knee backbreaker for a two count.

Young went for a suplex but Liger blocked it and chopped him.  Liger nailed the brainbuster and went to the top rope.  Young cut him off  but was taken out with a series of forearms.  Bruiser tried to interfere but was nailed by Liger, spitting out beer everywhere.  Liger went for a splash off the ropes but Young pulled his knees up.  Young nailed a TKO and scored the pin.

Your winner, Silas Young!

Good back and forth match.  Young has been needing a big win for awhile.

Dalton Castle vs. Colt Cabana

Cabana was geting upset early at Castle's antics and was kept off balance early.  A lot of fans were heckling Cabana.  Some good back and forth action.  They battled to the top rope, where Cabana went for a DVDR.  Castle escaped and hit the reverse whirlybird for a two count.   He nailed the reverse whirlybird for the pin.

Your winner, Dalton Castle!

The match was good from what I could see, but a lot of fans were standing so my sightline wasn't the best.  To prevent this from happening again, I just began streaming the PPV on my cellphone via the Fite App, so it won't happen again.  My apologies.
