JUVI GUERRERA TALKS ABOUT LEAVING WWE, WHY HE HAD BACKSTAGE HEAT, JEALOUSY IN THE MEXICOOLS, HIS SINGING CAREER AND MORE

By WorldWrestlingInsanity.com on 2007-09-23 11:07:10
The 85th edition of JG’s Radio Free Insanity is on the air and available right now at WorldWrestlingInsanity.com (Flash and MP3 download) This week's guest is former leader of WWE Cruiserweight Champion "The Juice" Juventud Guerrera.

James Guttman starts things off by talking about "The Juice."  Juvi is one of wrestling's most misunderstood and gossiped-about performers.  His interview with ClubWWI.com is a rare one and a chance for listeners to hear from The Juice directly, as opposed to third-hand stories.  He definitely has a lot to say and, although he has tons to talk about on today's show, his uncut interview on the Club features talk of so much more.

In his uncut ClubWWI.com shoot, Juvi speaks about everything including Konnan, going to TNA, the real story behind his WWE release, meeting the Rock for the first time, his thoughts on the "Juice" gimmick, Mexican wrestlers in the USA, life after WWE, how Psychosis has changed, Super Crazy, backstage heat, his music career, a message to his fans and much more.

Juvi is just one of over 85 stars on the Club. Among the other interviews available on ClubWWI.com are Sid Vicious, Eric Bischoff, Jerry Lawler, Vince Russo, John Heidenreich, Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page, La Resistance, The Steiner Brothers, AJ Styles, Demolition, Paul Bearer, Bobby Heenan, Ted DiBiase, Road Warrior Animal, The Iron Sheik, Rhino, Tito Santana, Earl Hebner, Charlie Haas, Christy Hemme, Chris Daniels, and many more. Plus audio shows from D-Lo Brown, Bull Buchanan, Kevin Kelly, Orlando Jordan, and Dr. Tom Prichard

JG then announces that he won't have a Raw Insanity on October 1st because that Thursday is TNA's big two hour premiere of Impact.  So…for the first time ever…James will present "JG's Total Nonstop Insanity."  He promises to give the Insanity treatment to every TNA star from Kurt Angle to Kurt Angle to Kurt Angle to Karen Angle to Kurt Angle.  Guttman then says that today (Sept. 23rd) marks the fifth anniversary of his writing about the wrestling business.  In fact, the first Raw Insanity went up five years ago today.  Since then, he's done Insanity reports on Raw, ECW, and Smackdown.  Now, for the first time, he'll do the same thing for TNA.  He says he hopes the show can give him enough material to make fun of, but he's not able to say it without laughing halfway through.

Guttman then talks about Triple H's segment on Raw this week and how only one part really stood out as counterproductive.  He looks at the entire situation and how, for better or worse, it's been done before.  Wrestlers have gone over tag champions.  They've even gone over them and then someone else on top of it.  What made the situation bad was the way WWE's creative staff thought the fans would pop for a beat down on Kendrick and London, who came out to "save" Hunter.  It would have made Trips (as well as the tag team) look better if they had all worked together and then did a six man tag the following week.  Instead, it confused the live audience and ended The Game's segment on a strange note.  He brings up past instances of when this same miscalculation of booking lead to stunned audiences for Steve Austin and John Cena as well.

From there, James cues up the interview with Juventud Guerrera from ClubWWI.com.

James Guttman introduces "our Juiciest guest," Juvi Guerrera.  Juvi thanks James and says he's so happy to be "helping out online with this interview so, you know, let's get some juice on."

Guttman begins by asking Juventud to fill any fans not familiar with Mexican wrestling in on what's going on the in the world of the Juice.

"The World of Juice is still juicy, bro, and I'm so happy to people can see that now.  I don't know.  I was kinda like, um, you know, I got back finally to…finally back from WCW with WWE thing and it wasn't the way I was supposed was expecting to be.  It was a lot of thing going on.  But at the same time kinda like give me a little direction and opened my mind and my heart and my feelings now that there's so much more than just WWE, you know?  So I am so happy to be there.  It's a great experience and maybe we can work something out in the future, you know.  The good thing is that I feel alive.  I feel healthy.  I feel juicy.  And now maybe on my website, people can see that."

Juvi talks about his work in Mexico and mentions his group "The Mexican Powers."  James also plugs his website,  Juventudgx.com.  They then discuss future things that Guerrera has in the works down in Mexico.  He's been doing TV and looking into movies.  However, the big thing he's working on is his music career.  He's put together a band and his first song is done.  However, it's taking too long for his liking so he's "working on a better idea so people can  see that."  He says it will be online pretty soon.  Juvi also mentions the upcoming November 17th AAA wrestling show in Mexico and says he's trying to stay busy, which is the most important thing.

JG brings up his relationship with the Mexicools in WWE.  He asks about working with Super Crazy and Psychosis. Juvi says his relations with them were "a little crazy."  Psychosis was in Mexico City.  Meanwhile, he and Crazy were doing their thing in the business, but in a different direction.  When they got to WWE, though, Guerrera says they were all looking for their own spot.  The final idea Vince McMahon saw for them was to put them together as a group.  Juventud came up with the "Mexicool" name himself and McMahon liked it right away.  From there, it all took off.

"I think it was really, really good.  I think so.  For what it was.  I got my first shot doing a promo which was very nervous for a Mexican boy, you know.  It was…uh…you know, like a goal.  To make that happen."

However, just because it was a good thing for Juvi, doesn't mean it was  good thing for everyone.

"You know, behind me, you say, the group, it was a little bit of jealousy. I guess so. Because it's kind of like I have the spot, in the middle with the microphone. And at that moment they kind of like, I don't know, maybe jealous. And in the same way we looking on TV like so tight, so cool, I tell you they kind of like left me at the airport. You know, kind of like make a deal to drive each other and then they just f**kin' left me. And people don't know that. People don't know that. And it's just like too sad because I'm sure I got released people start talking sh*t. I was…I want too much. I want…F**k. What can I do, bro? What can I tell you?"

Juvi says he was just happy to be there and following the rules, but it was "too sad" because he ended up getting screwed over for it.  James asks if it's tough because of all the politics in WWE and asks if it was tougher there than in other places.

"I don't know if that was that or if it was that I was because I was a little, uh, how can I say it,  could say mature?  Which I don't think I am still though.  But you know in the way of the business was going and in my career.  But like I said, I was just following the rules and, you know, because that was a funny thing when I'm having a meeting with the boys and they say I want people to raise your hand and they can give some ideas, you know?  So you know, I raise my hand, and kinda like everybody looked at me like maybe, rare, you know, 'cause  maybe because I'm Mexican.  Which is the way it usual is, you know, that's why, you know, I'm trying to be, I tried not to be just another Mexican.  I try to represent, you know and people sometimes get hurt, you know.  And that's not my goal.  That's not my deal."

Juventud says that he respected everyone in the locker room and they respected him. The only people he didn't have respect with were his boys, the fellow luchadors.
