By Brett Buchanan on 2007-07-21 10:17:14

SHOW: Barbaric Wrestling Radio on www.bwronline.net and www.barbaricwrestling.net
DATE: July 20, 2007
HOSTS: Brett Buchanan, The Sanman, and Sanford Gomph
GUEST: Vito

The interview starts out with Vito talking trash about former BWR co-host and TNAwrestling.com reporter Jon Sawicki and reminiscing about BWR's early days in 2004 and how bad Brett was. He did quite a hilarious impression of Brett talking to Camille Anderson. Vito then talks about how over the dress gimmick was and still is. He discusses recently wrestling for the WWC.

Vito then talks about how grateful he is for all he's gotten in the business. He says winning the DSW title matches up to him with winning the WCW Hardcore Title and other great accomplishments in his career. Vito talks about how people still want to see the dress and how fans have asked him why he's not in WWE anymore. He says he doesn't know. He also says he wants to return to the WWE. Vito also said he's still not sure why he was released, he said there was no bad blood between them and he thinks it must have been for financial reasons. Vito says that he's trying to get on some VH1 stuff like the Surreal Life and ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Sanman asks about the movie Vito will be appearing in, Vito says it's called "Good Friday" and will be filming in September and that it's about an Italian wrestler. Vito talks about the guys that are on VH1, but asks if there has ever been a man in the dress on it?

Vito says he's gotten more "play" with chicks since getting the dress than before. Sanman asks why. Vito says people used to see him as this tough man, but the dress made them think he had a softer side and made him more approachable. He says they've approached him complimenting how good he looks in a dress. Vito says that he wouldn't change his character because it made him "the most recognizable pro athlete entertainer in all of sports." Sanman asks if Vito is wearing a dress right now during the interview, Vito said it makes him wonder why Sanman wants to know. Vito says that he's wearing a silk leopard bath robe, the one he wore on Playgirl just to be on BWR. Vito asks Brett and Sanman if they have happened to check out the Playgirl magazine, both say no. Vito asks if Brett's Mom has seen it, he says no. Brett then talks about how he once sent Vito a picture of his Mom, Vito says she is a very beautiful lady. Brett asks about the WWE sending Vito to DSW to repackage his gimmick despite him being over with the dress gimmick. Vito says he doesn't know why he was sent down, he mentions that the shoot fighter gimmick he used in DSW worked though.

Vito then discusses how his family thought he had lost it when he started wearing the dress and moved to Tampa Bay, because it all happened in 1 week. Vito mentions that people at the airport and kids in his neighborhood didn't treat him any differently, they just treated him as regular Vito. Vito says a few 6"6 guys challenged him to a fight and he told them wouldn't it be humiliating if a guy in a dress was beating them up all over the restaurant, and got them to leave.

Brett asks about who came up with the dress gimmick, Vito says Vince and Stephanie came up with it. Brett asks if he liked it or not at first, Vito claims that he loved the idea and had been waiting for the gimmick and was being a good WWE employee, he did everything by the book and worked as hard as he could. He says he left on good terms. Vito says he knows one day he'll be back there.

Brett then asks if Vito wants to go to TNA since his friend Vince Russo works there, Vito says wherever he can wrestle and be Vito, he'll go. He says when he was in TNA before they treated him nicely. Brett follows up by asking about the Benoit family tragedy, Vito says it's very sad and that nobody has an answer to it. Vito says he knew all three of them, and he hopes they're resting in peace and that people aren't judgmental on anybody, he says that maybe one day we'll have answers but not right now. Brett asks about the media jumping on steroids and the WWE Wellness policy, Vito says it doesn't give anybody any breaks and that if you have a problem they'll send you to rehab. He mentions that if WWE wrestlers are taking anything that it's prescribed by a physician. Vito mentions the death of John Kronus and says that he was a good guy and wrestled him a lot but that maybe sometimes he didn't have his mind straight but that didn't make him a bad person but he hopes that he is at peace with himself and extends his condolences. Brett asks if the WWE Wellness Policy is hard enough, Vito says that whatever they find they find, but if you have proper paperwork and the proper prescription and you take what you're supposed to take you're following the guidelines. Vito says that if they take hair, blood, and urine samples could be the next way to advance it.

Vito then answers a series of awful fan questions. Brett asks about Playgirl, Vito says he was willing to be fully nude, but they wanted him to be covered. Vito says it was flattering and that people thought he was a sexy male, and he took that as a great compliment. Vito says he asked Torrie and Candice for advice, he says he got just as much money as the centerfold and wasn't centerfold because he wasn't fully nude. Brett asks if Vito went to Shawn Michaels for advice, Vito said no. Brett mentions the story about Shawn Michaels being at his Playgirl signing and discovering it was a gay men's magazine and asks if Vito was uncomfortable with Playgirl being mainly for gay men. Vito says it doesn't matter. Vito says that a lot of gay and bisexuals gave him compliments, but they know he's not like that, but it was humbling. Brett asks about why the WWE didn't promote it or do something with him and Ashley, Vito says he and Ashley were supposed to do something to promote their spreads at WrestleMania but it didn't happen, but that was the original reason they did the shoot. Brett asks Sanford Gomph if he's seen the spread, Sanford says he hasn't.

Vito also talks about the rumors about him and Bobby Lashley being false, his charity work, his move to Florida, and more.
