RECAP OF CHRIS JERICHO'S XM RADIO SHOW

By Jeff Sheridan on 2006-11-12 07:00:00
1. Starts the show at 8:01PM with 2 Paul Stanley songs: "Live To Win" & "Lift".

2.Y2J says that should be the motto for every single Rock Of Jericholic listening tonight, says welcome to The Rock Of Jericho: http://tinyurl.com/rssxe on XM 41 Da Boneyard: http://tinyurl.com/6hmt6 . He says he's Chris Jericho & says "Live To Win" is a perfect motto to use in our lives courtesy of 1 of the greatest rock & roll singers of all time Paul Stanley. He says "Live To Win" is the title track & the 2nd track which's the 1-2 punch from the new record "Live To Win", says it's Paul's 1st solo record since '78 & asks as to why Paul decided to release another record after all that time.

Y2J feels that Paul made a perfect point for the fact that Kiss can probably never release another record again, says the lineup's not there anymore & it's half Kiss with Gene [Simmons], Paul, Tommy Thayer & Eric Singer... He says not to mention that what Kiss does people don't want to hear new material from them, says they're 1 of those bands that can write the greatest record ever, but people might not wanna hear it. He says then again Iron Maiden's done it & Paul McCartney's done it with his last record, says there's some great tunes left in lots of these bands & feels that if Paul & Gene can put their egos aside, write a kickass record & get back with Bob Ezrin & maybe have another classic.

Y2J feels the heads of Kiss lie in different directions now, says here's the perfect example of the Kiss camps & says Gene has his reality show on A&E ["Gene Simmons' Family Jewels"]: http://tinyurl.com/qokdc where he's getting a facelift & his wife [Shannon Tweed] may be pregnant & has a son [Nick] & daughter [Sophie] & says "SKI-BI-DI-BAH-DU-BU-DI-BU-BAH-BLIHH". He says Paul's hitting the road & touring for his new solo record, asks as to who cares more about music & who cares more about being famous. He feels that Gene's mind is that he's done everything that he wants to do in music, says Gene still likes to play live & likes to be Gene "quote/Un-Simmons/quote", where Paul still wants to write new material & is confined in the chains with Kiss & released his own solo record.

Y2J says the record's very good & the 1st 2 songs is probably the best 2 songs on the record, says he loves "Live To Win" & "Lift" & says the other songs on their are either heavier or more melodic, but says it's all very Paul Stanley. He says you'll hear more Paul Stanley solo songs from "Live To Win" on his show over the next couple of weeks, says Paul always delivered quality & says there's no doubt in his mind that during the 80's if Paul wasn't Paul & wasn't with Kiss, he feels they would've went under & broken up & end of story. He says he [Y2J] got into Kiss with his 1st Kiss record in '84 with "Animalize", says his 1st Kiss that he enjoyed was them without makeup & says Paul was always his guy.

Y2J says he got into the non-makeup Kiss 1st, then got into the makeup Kiss & says he was a little bit backwards & a dyslexic Kiss fan. He says for the fact that Paul's songwriting was so great in the 80's which kinda counter balanced Gene's "K-rap" songwriting & says if there's any doubt in your mind, there's 10 years between Gene's songs. He mentions in '82 with "I Love It Loud", '92 with "Unholy" with no videos or singles in between as he said it many times before & says Paul continues on with some great advice with "Live To Win". He says Paul gave Y2J some great advice early in his career when watching the "Decline Of The Western Civilization": www.declinemovies.com , where Paul did an interview saying "the only people that're gonna tell you that you can't make it are the one's who've failed. I'm not gonna tell you if you can't make it because I did it & you can do it".

Y2J says he thought that was great that the only people that're gonna tell you that you can't do something are the one's that've failed, says he himself has lived his whole life on that concept & says to look where he is today. He says he's in your homes & car as a kickass, rock & roll DJ, says Paul's solo record in '78 ["Paul Stanley"] mirrored Ace Frehley's solo record in '88 & corrects himself & says '78 ["Ace Frehley"]. He says Gene & Peter [Criss] also did solo records ["Gene Simmons" & "Peter Criss"], says Gene's other solo record a couple of years ago with the oddly titled "A**hole" & says that's 1 of the worst solo records that he's ever heard.

Y2J says it's so eclectic classic Gene where he's all over the place, says it's not so much the eclecticism of the record that bothers him but it's lots of the terrible lyrics. He says the lead cut off the record is "A**hole" & has the great mind: "your personality is like a bucket of pee", asks as to how can you release that. He feels it's kinda up there with "baby if you're feeling good, baby if you're feeling nice. You know your man's working hard, he's worth a deuce", says that kinda makes sense because "he's worth a deuce" must mean that he's worth a double bang, where you can bang the boy twice.

Y2J says "personality is like a bucket of pee" are lyrics that he himself wrote like that when he was 5 years old & says there was always the internal battle between Kiss fans in '78 as to who's solo record was better. He says there was never any contention as to who's was the worst & says Peter's, says Gene's was like a "take it or leave it" & says Paul's & Ace's were always critically louder as the best solo records in the Kiss factory & the Kiss solo record [as he says it] "quadronary". He says we heard some solo Paul as to what he sounds like without the rest of the gang, says let's here some solo Gene & Ace & again says this is The Rock Of Jericho on XM 41 Da Boneyard. He again says he's Chris Jericho, says his personality is like a bucket of pee & says to ask Gene Simmons he'll tell you.

3. Plays Gene Simmons' "A**hole" & Ace Frehley's "Snow Blind".

4. Y2J says Ace Frehley's "Snow Blind" was for a fan named Joe Shaw from Nashville who wanted to hear some Ace Frehley & got it & says it's from Ace's solo record in '78. He says it's still 1 of the greatest 4 section cover of all time, says the 4 solo pictures [Kiss' solo albums from '78] are so great, says each are shaded & says purple was for Paul, green for Gene, red for Peter & blue for Ace. He says he loves it & has a poster of it on his wall to this day, that's next to the "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" poster that has James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart & "Elvis-hah" [Presley]: http://tinyurl.com/t9x9y , says he don't know why he did a James Hetfield impression & said "Elvis-hah-hu-yeah".

Y2J again says it's Sunday night & welcome to his show & says you know he likes to play lots of Christian bands, says 1 of the best is Tourniquet that's 1 of the longest running, says they came out at the end of the 80's that's kind of the tail end of the whole Stryper/Barron Cross/White Cross/Guardian phenomenon, then sings an old Sesame Street skit: "Phenomenon du du du du du, phenomenon du du du du, phenomenon du du du du du, dududu, dududu, dududu, du du du du du du" & says they've continued on ever since. He says they're anchored by the drummer Ted Patrick who's very Mike Portnoy-esk & writes all the songs & lyrics.

Y2J says they also have some very crazy lyrical ideas like "Microscopic View Of A Telescopic World" & his all time favorite "Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance", which tells about lizards & how they see things. He says they're very prog rock & heavy, says back in '95 they released an acoustic [as he says it] "crack" called "Carry The Wounded" & says he just heard it on his ipod the other day & thought that he needed to spread the word if "Carry The Wounded" to all of you. He says you may not have heard it, says it's 1 of those songs that really makes you feel that things in the world are gonna be OK & says to hold on to your dreams & to each other. He says we're getting very [yep, what sounded like] "pertensious", says "pertensious" is his middle name & says it's really Keith.

5. Plays Tourniquet's "Carry The Wounded", Scorpions' "Love Em Or Leave Em" & Probot's "Red War".

6. Y2J says Probot's "Red War" had Max Cavalera's vocals & Probot's Dave Grohl's metal project, says Dave hired Max to do vocals on the song & says he hired a different heavy metal vocalist on every track. He says Max's currently reuniting with his estrange brother Igor, says they'll possibly reunite Sepultura & says he don't know & hopes so. He says Sepultura's coming to Tampa in a couple of weeks at the State Theater [in St. Petersburg on 12/12]: http://tinyurl.com/yaqb6q , says he's not interested in going to it & says they're 1 of those bands that lost the magic for him when Max & Igor left.

Y2J asks as to what's Sepultura without a Cavalera, says it's like having Van Halen with just Michael Anthony & Sammy Hagar. He says you can't have Sepultura without a Cavalera, says you can't have Van Halen without Van Halen & figures maybe they can reunite just like all the Scorpions do with the exception of bassist Francis Buchholz. He says at this past Wacken Festival earlier this year the Scorpions headlined it which's huge like Download or Donnington, says it had all the previous members join them & says it's now on DVD called "A Journey Through Time". He says it's got Uli Jon Roth, Herman Rarebell, Michael Schenker & says the whole gang was there.

Y2J says that he says this all the time The Scorps are probably 1 of the most underrated metal bands ever, says for the fact that no one ever includes them when you talk about the great metal bands of history & says Matthias Jabs is very ripped off & underrated as a guitarist. He says he would love to see the reuniting of all the band members, says Schenker's the headcutter, Roth's a shredder & says they got a huge song catalog. He says it's almost like 2 stages of The Scorps which's like there's 2 stages of Van Halen or 2 stages of ZZ Top & says there's "Lovedrive", "Animal Magnetism" post years.

Y2J says the years before that with Roth where they did "Tokyo Tapes", "Virgin Killer" & "Lonesome Crow", says Matthias joined & you had "Lovedrive", "Animal Magnetism", "Blackout", etc & calls it the glory years of The Scorps. He says he'd love to see the ["A Journey Through Time"] DVD, says the absence of Francis Buchholz is very glaring, says he was the bassist for many years & was the tall guy that wore the cheesy leather pants & had really bad hair. He says apparently from what his sources told him, says he's got lots of sources & says he was told that Francis was 1 of the managers of the band & was embezzling funds from The Scorps.

Y2J says when The Scorps found out they obviously fired him, says Francis wasn't welcomed to come back to the reunion show at Wacken & says as a result, there's big heat between Francis & The Scorps. He says if you're embezzling from your own brothers & asks how can you be in a band & embezzle from the dudes that you're rocking with while doing worldwide tours with. He says he ain't sure if it's true or not & says if you know for sure to email him at messagesforchris@aol.com , then realizes that's his old email & says it's messagesforchris@gmail.com . He then plugs www.myspace.com/therockofjericho & dares you to give him requests, says a fan named Norm from Sacremento requested to hear some Winger, some "Wingski".

Y2J says he's never played Winger ever on his show & says it's not because he don't like them, says he thinks they have some chops & says Rod Morgenstein's the drummer & was in the Dixie Dregs that's 1 of the greatest prog rock bands ever. He says Reb Beach's an unbelievable guitarist, says Kip Winger can sing like a MoFo & says what happened with Winger was that they came out in the late 80's & lunked in with the whole glam rock, pretty boy rock bands. He says they kinda were that, says Kip came from the Alice Cooper band, formed his own solo record & says he always had the whiskers & always looked sexly at the camera all the time, percing his lips, etc.

Y2J says what really killed them was in the "Nothing Else Matters" video where Lars [Ulrich] was throwing darts at a dartboard, with Kip Winger's photo on the dartboard. He says on top of that Stewart [Stevenson] who's the big nerd on "Beavis & Butt Head": http://tinyurl.com/y7rtb5 always wore a Winger tshirt & says if you wanna talk about a 1-2 punch, that was the 1-2 punch that brought Winger downtown to Chinatown & ended their career. He says on the tail end of that & going down fighting, they released a record called "Pull" & asks if it's the best Winger record & says absolutely.

Y2J then asks if it's the least known Winger record & says absolutely & says it's almost like Skid Row's "Subhuman Race", in the fact that it was by far their best record & by far their least known that no one knew that they even had it. He says if you don't have "Pull", he'll start playing some tracks from it for you in the next couple of weeks, says you know he does things on his show by playing bands 2 to 5 weeks in a row & not play them for a while. He says he gets introduced or reunited with some of these classic records & acts like former Harlem Heat's Stevie Ray: http://tinyurl.com/yxbpvc & says "sucker's gotta play them & I got some Fruit Booty that I need to play for you guys". He says for Norm from Sacremento who wanted to hear some Winger,Y2J's choice of Winger is from "Pull" & says it's from '93 called "Junkyard Dog" & says "Grab Them Cakes" [which was JYD's WWF theme song] right here on Da Boneyard.

7. Plays Winger's "Junkyard Dog" & Queensryche's "Child Of Fire".

8. Y2J says a fan named "Lovely Amy" wanted it & got it with Queensryche's "Child Of Fire" that's from the album "Warning", says he always loved that title even to the point that he wrote a story when he was in college in a creative writing class & says he wrote a short story called "Child Of Fire" that was about a homeless child that a guy tried to befriend & take care of. He says she [the child] possessed him & the guy worked at a police station, who he then possessed his police chief & says the police chief was having a meeting with the mayor & then possess the mayor, then says the mayor was having a meeting with the senator & possessed the senator, who ended up possessing the US President & ended up starting a nuclear war.

Y2J says that was his short story & sent it off to a bunch of short story magazines & publishers, says he got past letters from all of them who said "FORGET IT, I'M OUT" & says he went into wrestling instead & too said "FORGET IT, I'M OUT" of wrestling & is now a rock & roll DJ, which he says that's his mission in life for you Rock Of Jericholics. He says he's digging Queensryche, loved "Warning" & hated the production & says that's all he has to say about it. He says he did the Delicious Rox show a couple of months ago, says a fan named Tracy was there to see "The Foz" & was impressed by Motograter & sings "MO-TO-GRATER, EVERYBODY IS A MO-TO-GRATER, MOVE IT OR LOSE IT BABY".

Y2J says Motograter's kinda like either a Mud Vain or Slip Knot type thing where it's all about the gimmick, says they dress up all in black with makeup & veins all over their faces & says it was like a Halloween costume of sorts. He says they actually play an instrument that they created called "The Motograter" on stage during the show & gig, says "The Motograter" is kinda like half motorcycle & half cheesegrater & says he don't know exactly know what it is. He says it makes a weird kind of sound that's like Jesse James Dupree playing the chainsaw in the "Lumberjack" song, but they got "The Motograter" going & they're rocking it during the tracks.

Y2J says it's an interesting concept with a great visual & a unique, says he got a chance to see it because they unlike "The Foz" got to do their whole set & finish it & Tracy got to see it. He says Amy, Norm, Tracy & everyone's happy today including Joe Shaw, again asks you to email your requests & says enough of this s*** & let's start rocking. He says this is Motograter's "Down", right here on the "ROJ".

9. Plays Motograter's "Down", Bang Tango's "Someone Like You" & Michael Schenker's "Assault Attack".

10. Y2J says he was talking about Michael Schenker & had to play some with the Michael Schenker group's "Assault Attack", with drummer Simon Phillips & sings "SIMON PHILLIPS ON THE DRUMS". He says Mike Portnoy introduced Y2J to the Michael Schenker group because Mike's a huge Simon Phillips fan, says he himself didn't know much about Simon Phillips but heard about him all the time. He says Simon's a great studio drummer that played with The Who, Michael Schenker group & on The Priest's "Sideways Of Destiny" & says he didn't play with Bang Tango, but decided to play some Bang Tango that was sandwiched in between Motograter & the "MSG" [Michael Schenker group].

Y2J says he's never heard of a Bang Tango song ever in his life until he moved to Tampa, says they have a thing called "Music Choice": www.musicchoice.com where it's a music channel, says he put it on the "Arena Rock" channel & they played Bang Tango. He says that song ["Someone Like You"] is a catchy song, says Joe Leste left to sing with Beautiful Creatures & says he never enjoyed the whole Bang Tango concept because:

A. He thought the name was stupid.

B. They had 3 guys in the band with the name Kyle & 1 of the guys had his 1st & last name both as Kyle, as in Kyle Kyle.

Y2J says it's like Bang Tango with KyleKyle, makes a buzzing noise & says he's out & says he's now kinda semi-back in because of "Someone Like You". He says a band that has been out & it's Shadows Fall, says at 1 point were the newest heavy, rock & roll, metal band sensation in the nation. He says they kinda came out with Killswitch Engaged & was [yep, what sounded like] "insaplanted" by your Masterdon's, Avenged Sevenfold's, etc., & says they kinda missed their window a little bit in a way. He says in the 2003 Ozzfest had Shadows Fall & Killswitch Engaged were the 2 biggest upcoming bands, says it's not the case anymore & says Shadows Fall's now opening for Killswitch Engaged & put out their latest record.

Y2J says although they have lots of fans, he's not sure if the buzz's quite the same for them as it was 3 years ago. He says that's what happens lots of times with bands coming out of the gigs & bursting on thru, says people take notice & freak out, then talk about as to how great & kickass they are. He says then the next record comes out & then either the record company looses interest or the fans find someone else & says you don't get alot of time nowadays to build that fan base like you used to. He then imitates an old man & says "BACK IN THE DAY WHEN I USED TO WALK UP THE HILL TO SCHOOL BOTH WAYS IN THE SNOW", then says when Metallica came out in '83 with "Kill 'Em All" & had a few fans.

Y2J says then with "Ride The Lightning" they built a little bit more of that, then they moved onto "Master Of Puppets" which was more so & says they created a fan base. He says they built it up as did Iron Maiden & all of the big bands & says now if you put out 1 record, you better be huge right off the bat or else you slowly go down, they lose interest & the record company's lose the promotion. He says to look at Papa Roach that had a huge buzz about them, then mentions Sevendust, Clutch & all others that now live in the "Where Are They Now" file. He says he himself ain't going down like that, says he still digs Shadows Fall & says he'll fly the "ROJ flag" for the band. He says "let the freak flags fly", says this is Shadows Fall on 41.

11. Plays Shadows Fall's "Stepping Outside The Circle" & Axel Rudi Pell's "Pay The Price".

12. Y2J says a fan named Elvin Hardgrove who's a frequent listener to his show who wanted to hear some Axel Rudi Pell who's from Germany, says he's the only other Axel in rock & roll, says he don't know about the Rudi part & says Axel Pell may sound better or just Axel & says he don't know but that's his name. He says Axel's a Malmsteen type of player from Germany that's released umpteen albums, says no one in this country has even heard of him & says now you have. He says the millions of Rock Of Jericholics are now down with the Axel Rudi Pell clown, says he's happy to have introduced him to you & says "Hi, hi guys, this is Axel. Axel, these are the guys".

Y2J says all across the world in their cars, rooms, on the little fancy, shmanzy XM Pioneer singular solo unit that you can clip onto your belt buckle like a real rock & roller: http://tinyurl.com/wo8qm & says that's what he's got & that's how he does it. He says if you watched [CBS's] "Rock Star Supernova": http://tinyurl.com/ykbfv2 & saw Dave Navarro host it, to find a new singer for the group Supernova that has Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke & Jason Newsted & says they've found a newsinger Lukas Rossi from Canada. He says they're getting ready to go on the road & put out a record, etc & says suddenly Newsted had a mysterious "gardening accident", where the whole cabinet of amplifiers fell on top of him & tore his shoulder out.

Y2J says Jason's out & the band has to find a replacement to go on the road, says the whole Supergroup thing was built around this trio & now Newsted's out. He says his only question's that he feels bad for Jason because he's a big Newsted fan & asked if some of this happened to cause him to leave Metallica, where he said that his neck was messed up from all the headbanging that he did over the years, that gave him bulging discs, nerve, disc & spinal cord problems & he could never rock again, then just basically started with Voivod. He says it was all a ruse & an excuse for Jason to stay face after leaving Metallica, asks if this is the same thing with Supernova & if Newsted will show up in Voivod next week promoting their new record "Katorz".

Y2J then counts in Spanish & says uno, doce, trece, catorce, then sings "We're in Voivod, se-lum-gum, we're in Voivod"... He asks as to what's going on there, why would Jason leave the Supergroup & how can a cabinet of amps fall upon him & tear his shoulder. He asks if they roadies for that, says Newsted's been thru it all & played in Supergroup, Voivod, Ozzy & asks if you remember that. He says talk about a cup of coffee, says it's like Wayne Gretzky playing for the St. Louis Blues is like "what, I totally forgot about that". He says Jason was in Metallica before that, then before that he was in Flotsam & Jetsam, says he wrote most of the songs on the "No Place For Disgrace" record but didn't play on it, wrote most of songs for the "Doomsday For The Deceiver" record & did play on that bad boy.

Y2J says this is the opening track from that record that's the very 1st recorded appearance of Jason Newsted before any amplifiers ever fell on him, says this is "Hammerhead" right here from "Hammer Jericho" on "Hammer Jack 101".

13. Plays Flotsam & Jetsam's "Hammerhead" & Slaughter's "The Wild Life".

14. Y2J says talk about a song to raise the roof, then says "Raise the rafters, yeah, raise it up yeah, raise it up". He says Slaughter's "The Wild Life" had the late great Tim Kelly who died maybe 10 years ago. He says Slaughter busted out of the gates with the "Stick It To You" record which's a great record & says "The Wild Life" is their follow up, which came out in a crazy time in '92 when grunge was making it's way, terrorizing the country & annihilating metal bands coast to coast & says it was annihilating Annihilator from coast to coast. He says Slaughter was still fighting & holding on, had a couple of hits from the record & that was probably it for their major label & major labeling.

Y2J says before that was Flotsam & Jetsam's "Hammerhead", asks as to what "Hammerhead" means & says it sounds like from the lyrics about a chick that's giving you the best b*** j** ever & just hammering your head & makes this sound: "WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, AH. WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, WAKA, AH". He says any "Hammerhead" candidates please apply to www.chrisjericho.com , says he's kidding & it's a joke. He thinks Flotsam & Jetsam are still recording nowadays, says talk about beating a dead horse, says there's still a market for them somewhere & asks as to how much of a market can there be.

Y2J says to him their peak was "Doomsday For The Deceiver", "No Place For Disgrace", says that was pretty much it for him & his Flotsam & Jetsam [yep, as he says it] "issum, issuming". He says it's not like it was for Iron Maiden when he was with them forever, says he mentioned that he saw the "A Matter Of Life & Death" tour, says it's the 1st Maiden tour that he remembers that don't have a fancy name to it & says he was kinda disappointed because there was no "X-Fact Tour", "Beast On The Road" or "Slavery Tour". He says they played the record in it's entirety & was amazing, says 16,000 fans sold out the Irvine Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Y2J says the opening band for them was 3 Inches Of Blood, says he bought their record & went to his office & disappeared. He wonders if his [yep, as he says it] "ferit", dog or son took it, says he put money into the 3 Inches Of Blood account & never heard any of the record. He says it's the same thing that happened with the "Best Of John Camp Coogarmellon" that he bought, says maybe that's for the best but both of them are gone. He wonders as to where they went, says someday when he moves out of his house like 20 years from now & get put into an old folks home & then says he'll be put into an old folks home in his mid 50's.

Y2J says 1 day he'll pull back a TV set & see his 3 Inches Of Blood & John Camp Coogarmellon unwrapped & lying under a pile of dust bunnies & by then 3 Inches Of Blood will be so obscure that it'll be like listening to a Stealer or a Lillian Axe record. He says he's gotta play some Lillian Axe 1 of these days, says 3 Inches Of Blood were cool because they remind him a lot of Avenged Sevenfold for the fact that they were a metal band with no aspirations, problems or hangups by calling themselves a legit metal band. He says they had the real Manowar/Barbarian vibe thing happening which was cool, says they were talking about vikings, swords & "we sail the boats at night, made of wood don't be afraid to fight" or something like that.

Y2J says they're pretty good with high singing, a great vibe & says enough of his yacking & introduces you to 3 Inches Of Blood. He says Axel Rudi Pell & 3 Inches Of Blood with "Deadly Sinners", right here from "Deadly Jericho" on 41 Da Boneyard.

15. Plays 3 Inches Of Blood's "Deadly Sinners" & Edguy's "Down To The Devil".

16. Y2J says Edguy's "Down To The Devil" was for the lovely Pearl who's another frequent listener to his show & says it's from the "Hellfire Club" record. He says he still wants to play something from their new record "Rocket Ride", says he don't have it in the system & don't even own it. He asks if anyone has an extra copy of it to send it to him, says don't send a burnt copy because he can't use that & says it has to be an original, so he can put it into the XM 41 Boneyard system. He says we at XM 41 don't condone pirating in any way, shape or form & says he needs an original [NOTE FROM JEFF:  Here's where to get it if it's not near you: http://tinyurl.com/yced35 ].

Y2J says Pearl always request songs & thanks her, says Pearl's also the name of Meatloaf's daughter & also the name of Scott Ian's fiancé. He says that was a great seague way & says Meatloaf just released the 3rd in his trio of "Bat Out Of Hell" records: http://tinyurl.com/y67mtf . He says he watched VH1 Classic's album special on "Bat Out Of Hell": http://tinyurl.com/y7gly2 & says it's a great story. He says Meatloaf obviously ain't metal but has a very metal element & a heavy side to him, says besides the fact that he's 350lbs & says that's very heavy & there's not much heavier than that. He says Meatloaf reminds him alot of Dream Theater/Queensryche/Rush & the real kind of Broadway type of prog rock/long epic songs with big long intros, outtros & telling a story & says it's an Iron Maiden type of historical thing.

Y2J says it's very much based on Broadway because that's what Meatloaf's background as well as it being Jim Steinman's background, who wrote "Bat Out Of Hell" with Meatloaf. He says they've done nothing since til "Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell" came out, then reunited & had a huge hit & says it's been 13 years & they got together to do "Bat Out Of Hell 3". He says this time Nikki Sixx, Steve Vai & other people are on the record & are giving props & representing Meatloaf. He says he'll do that this week because he's over, finished, gone, done & out & end with some closure with a 10 minute Meatloaf song.

Y2J thinks you're wondering: "WHY ARE WE TAKING A MEATLOAF SONG, WE WANT MORE CANNIBAL CORPSE", then breathes heavy into the mike & asks as to how bad was Cannibal Corpse on vocals last week. He says he wants you to listen to this & says the thing that's cool about it, is all the guitar parts on the song is played by a guy named Todd Rundgren who also produced it. He says Todd did all the guitars in 1 take, says he played "Free Bird" for you a couple of months ago & said it was the greatest guitar jam ever & says you listened & believed him. He says this record could be the best 1 take guitar performance of all time, says it's got some tasty licks & says it could be a Dream Theater song & they should cover it.

Y2J says they should do a full "Bat Out Of Hell" cover in it's entirety & this song would be the centerpiece of it. He says he'll see you next week on his show, again asks you to email him your requests & again says he's over, finished, gone, done & out.
