BIG DEMAND FOR BISCHOFF BOOK, WWE MAKES A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ONE FAN TONIGHT, MORE IN THE NO MERCY ADVERTISING SAGA

By Buck Woodward on 2006-10-03 18:39:00

Thanks to Joe Brooks for the following. ... I ordered Eric Bischoff's book last Tuesday on WWEShop.com. I got an email today stating that they ran out of stock on the book and that I could wait up to 30 days to get the book. Just stating the obvious, but I think the title (Controversy Creates Cash) is proved true yet again.  This is what I received: "Unfortunately we are unable to ship your complete order due to the unforeseen demand for the item(s) listed below. We anticipate shipment within 30 days and apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused you."

I have to say, there is definitely a buzz around the Eric Bischoff book, more than any wrestling book since Ric Flair's was released.  As I mentioned in a PWInsider.com Elite audio hotline today, Bischoff was one of two major players during arguably the most exciting period in wrestling history, the Monday Night Wars.  The other major player, of course, was Vince McMahon, and I don't see him writing a book anytime soon.

Mike Informer sent along a link to an article about Steven Gutierrez, a 12-year-old boy who is suffering from hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which means only three chambers in his hear are functioning. A huge wrestling fan, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon, along with WWE, have made arrangements for him to be flown to Wichita, Kansas to attend tonight's Smackdown and ECW show and he will also be taken backstage to meet his favorite, Rey Mysterio.  To read the article, click here.

In the latest part of the No Mercy advertising saga, we are now getting reports, mostly from Canada, that there is now an ad promoting King Booker vs. Bobby Lashley as the main event of the PPV.  However, several channels, including The Score, are still showing the ads promoting King Booker vs. Batista as the main event.  In face, one reader emailed that within the span of a half hour, he saw both ads air on the same channel.  As we have reported previously, there were plans at one point for Booker vs. Batista to continue their feud into No Mercy, however the plan for the last two months, and the match that will be taking place at this point, is Booker vs. Lashley. Thanks to everyone that sent that along.
