Ring of Honor has posted a three part video recap of last week's Glory by Honor weekend, featuring Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Dunn & Marcos, Colt Cabana hosting, a continuation of the Jimmy Jacobs-Cabana-Lacey triangle, highlights of the company's debut in New York City's Manhattan Center, a sendoff of sorts for Jack Evans, recent DVD release highlights, Bruno Sammartino endorsing the company, and more. The total videos clock in at 25 minutes, and it's as entertaining (if not more) than anything you can currently find on national TV. You can check them out by clicking below, in order:
The main event storyline right now is that Jim Cornette wants Homicide taken out before his Final Battle title shot on 12/23. On 10/27 in Dayton, Ohio it will be Homicide and a partner vs. Steve Corino & Adam Pearce (with Cornette). On 11/4 in Philadelphia, it's Homicide vs. Corino. Cornette will be on all the October events, so expect the storyline to remain heated.
There will be a bus trip from New York City and New Jersey to the Philadelphia, PA event for $55, which includes tickets, VIP admission, round trip on the bus and more. For details, email AGENTCLPT@aol.com.
ROH's next live event, "Survival of the Fittest" on 10/6 in Cleveland, Ohio will feature first-round matches of Christopher Daniels vs. Austin Aries, Matt Sydal vs. Davey Richards, Jimmy Rave vs. Delirious, and Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe as well as two additional bouts with the winners going into a six man bout to determine the winner.
BJ Whitmer is now in a walking aircast and is already training to make his return to the ring. He'll appear at some of the October ROH events since they are local to him, but there's no official word on when he'll return to the company full-time as an in-ring performer.
With the departure of Prince Nana, the Embassy faction has been dropped from ROH storylines. Nana leaving had to do more with wanting to try other things outside of wrestling, realizing that his options were limited as well as basic burnout. He had attempted to break into TNA a few times and they hadn't bitten, so he's taking a break from the business. I wouldn't be shocked to see him back down the line. ROH understood his decision although they did ask him to reconsider.
Austin Aries will challenge ROH champion Bryan Danielson on 10/7 in Detroit, Michigan. Also scheduled for 10/7 is Chris Hero vs. Roderick Strong and Lacey & Allison Danger vs. Daizee Haze & MsChif. Speaking of Michigan, ROH is already working out plans for their events there Wrestlemania 23 weekend including outside talent.
Jack Evans will be out of ROH the remainder of the year as he'll be working for Dragon's Gate in Japan but will return after the first of the year.
For those who asked, Allison Danger missed last week's NYC debut due to a personal commitment, which the company knew about ahead of time.
