RANKING ENGLAND'S IN-FORM STARS AHEAD OF EURO 2024

By Kendall Jenkins on 2024-04-16 07:01:00

Euro 2024 is rapidly approaching, with the group stages kicking off on June 14, and England fans are once again dreaming of the Three Lions lifting the trophy at the Allianz Arena on July 14.

Gareth Southgate’s men had their hearts broken when they were beaten by Italy on penalties in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley, but the England to win Euro 2024 odds are enticing.

Despite failing to win any of their last three games, drawing with North Macedonia, losing to Brazil, and being held to a stalemate by Belgium, England remain the favourites to win the tournament.

Southgate, now heading into his fourth major tournament as the Three Lions gaffer, will feel he has the instruments to win the European Championship.

Some of his players are in red-hot form for their clubs as well, so let’s take a look at four players who Southgate will be hoping can carry their momentum into the Euros.

Harry Kane

While Harry Kane will likely end this season without securing that elusive major trophy, despite joining serial winners Bayern Munich last summer, his form for the German giants is impressive.

Kane has taken to the Bundesliga like a duck to water, scoring an incredible 32 goals in 28 league games.

The 30-year-old has also netted six times and provided three assists in eight Champions League outings, with his overall tally for the season standing at 38 goals in 37 games.

England will be heavily reliant on their talisman once again this summer, and his goalscoring exploits for Bayern Munich will have him brimming with confidence ahead of the Euros.

Jude Bellingham

Another player who has transitioned seamlessly to their new surroundings after a move last summer, Jude Bellingham has arguably been Real Madrid’s best player this season.

The 20-year-old joined the European titans from Borussia Dortmund for a massive £88.5 million in June, but the magnitude of the deal, which could reach £115m, has not fazed him.

Bellingham has 16 goals and four assists for Los Blancos in 23 La Liga games and has provided a further eight goal contributions (four goals and four assists) in six Champions League appearances.

Despite his age, Bellingham has already racked up almost 30 caps for England and he is going to be an integral part of Southgate’s midfield.

Phil Foden

A serious contender for the Premier League Player of the Season award, Phil Foden is enjoying a career-best campaign for Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s men are currently chasing an unprecedented fourth successive top-flight title and Foden has been a crucial component in their pursuit of the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 30 matches, both of which are new records for him in the Premier League, and there are still games to spare.

Foden has a further five goals and three assists in seven Champions League appearances as Man City also aim to retain the European Cup.

Cole Palmer

Arguably the signing of the season, Cole Palmer has been a revelation for Chelsea since arriving from Manchester City in September.

The Deadline Day move came as a surprise to almost everyone, including Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, but the 21-year-old has been by far the Blues’ best player.

The West London outfit have largely struggled in the Premier League this season, but who knows where they would be in the table without Palmer’s 16 goals and nine assists in the top flight.

Despite his fantastic season for the Blues, Palmer is unlikely to start for England but he could be a game changer in the Euro 2024 betting from the bench.
