RAFAEL NADAL IS SUCCESSFUL AS AN INVESTOR: HE HAS SURPASSED DJOKOVIC IN NON-TOURNAMENT EARNINGS

By Kendall Jenkins on 2024-04-16 07:57:00

Former world number one Rafael Nadal continues to disappoint his fans with notifications of withdrawing from upcoming tournaments. Recovering from numerous injuries for almost the entire past year, the Spaniard first suffered a new injury (hip injury) at a preparatory tournament for the Australian Open 2024. Then he injured his back and missed a series of hard-court battles in Doha, Indian Wells, and Miami. In early April, the athlete announced that he was not ready to start his favorite clay-court season and would not participate in the battles in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Madrid. On the site Pin up Azerbaycan you can bet on tennis, as well as other sporting events.

On June 3rd, Nadal will turn 38: he is losing the battle against time and will soon focus entirely on his family and business. In terms of earnings and investments off the court, only Roger Federer may outperform the Spaniard!

In 2006, Rafael Nadal established a venture company that earns €25 million each year

In 2006, Rafael Nadal founded Aspemir, a venture company, through which he earns €25 million annually. Initially suspected of tax evasion, his company paid only €10.5 thousand in taxes from 2006 to 2009, despite making €47 million in profit. Today, Aspemir controls about 30 companies, primarily focused on real estate. Nadal also invests in renewable energy and media, owning the production company Komodo, which promotes Spanish series on Netflix. Additionally, he has ventured into the hotel business with the brand ZEL, in collaboration with Melia Hotels International, aiming to open signature establishments worldwide by 2026.

Saudi Arabia promotion contract

In early 2024, it became known that Rafael Nadal had become the ambassador of tennis for Saudi Arabia. Under a long-term agreement, he will contribute to the development of the sport and inspire a new generation of athletes in the kingdom. The value of the deal is undisclosed, but it's noted that football star Lionel Messi received $25 million for a comparable role under a three-year contract.

Collaborates with Nike, starred in a commercial with an NBA star

Today, rare advertising breaks on Spanish television are incomplete without a commercial featuring Carlos Alcaraz - just as it used to be with Nadal. Despite Rafael's infrequent appearances, sponsors continue to love and value him. His collaboration with the car manufacturer Kia Motors has lasted for over 20 years, earning him $8 million annually. Additionally, Nadal earns income from deals with luxury watch brand Richard Mille, clothing brands Tommy Hilfiger and Armani, Spain's largest financial group Grupo Santander, and tennis equipment and footwear manufacturer Babolat.

Tennis marketing's main genius, Roger Federer, surpassed the $1 billion mark several years ago. One of his most lucrative contracts was signed in 2018 when he left Nike to become an ambassador for Uniqlo clothing brand, earning $30 million annually over a 10-year contract. Unlike his friend, Rafael has remained loyal to Nike throughout his career. His collaboration with the technical sponsor earns him $10 million annually, and he also releases his own "Bull Rage" clothing line in partnership with the apparel manufacturer.

One of Rafael's most recent deals, concluded at the end of last year, was with the American fast-food restaurant chain Subway. In one of the commercials, he appeared alongside basketball star Stephen Curry. The commercial showcases the new Grand Slam Ham sandwich, with ham sliced on special equipment right in the restaurant.
